Living In Worksop

Worksop & District represent excellent value for money in terms of new and existing homes being somewhat less than the Sheffield pricing, and yet with the advantage of living away from a city, but with superb commuting to Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster, Chesterfield. We are 10 to 15 minutes drive from Retford and the Northern line to London, 10 to 15 minutes from both the A1 connection at Blyth and the M1 connection at Barlborough.

Worksop nestles on the edge of Robin Hood Country, Sherwood Forest and Clumber Park which is owned by National Trust with approximately 1000 acres of delightful woodland, lakes etc, Worksop is a market town (markets are held on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday) with a busy Town Centre. The town is well served by supermarkets including Sainsbury's,  Tesco, Aldi, Co-op, and popular Meadowhall Shopping Centre is 25-30 minutes via the M1.

 

Within 10 miles drive are Junctions 30 and 31 of the M1, and the A1 at Blyth. Sheffield, Chesterfield and Doncaster are within easy access (approximately 30 minutes).

There is a regular train service to Retford, Lincoln, Sheffield and connections at Retford for London Kings Cross.

Excellent schooling and further education facilities are provided and there are sports and leisure facilities at the Valley and Bassetlaw Sports centres including: swimming, badminton, squash and tennis. The renowned Championship Lindrick Golf Course is just out of Worksop on the A57 (five minutes drive) and there are other golf clubs including College Pines, Worksop Golf Club and Kilton Golf Club.

Water sports facilities are provided at Rother Valley. There are angling facilities on the River Ryton and the rejuvenated Chesterfield Canal which has recently re-opened for narrow boats, with the new marina at Shireoaks.
